Proposal form

Proposal form

Proposal 1 – Identify the brief:

I have chosen the design brief of sixth formers. The main and most obvious reason for this is because I am a sixth former myself and believed that it would be a good target audience to make a magazine for. This is because I can include my own views and opinions and I’m more likely to know and gather information easier about what sixth formers want.
The title that I have chosen to use is ‘Student Life’. It is relevant to the target audience and is quite a simple yet appealing name.
The lifestyle that the magazine will promote is a fun lifestyle however hard-working at the same time. It will portray that you can have a sensible sense of fun in sixth form and still achieve the right grades at the same time.
The general idea behind my magazine is to provide sixth formers with entertainment and knowledge. It will contain information that sixth formers need all in one place.
My front cover will contain a bold, bright, reasonable sized masthead so that it will attract and look appealing to the target audience. The main picture will be a mid shot picture of an attractive sixth former. It will have a series of significant cover lines down the side. Overall, I will be going for a sophisticated and stylish cover style.
Examples of magazine content that will be included are things like; Changes such as new teachers and vertical tutoring, Exam success of the GCSE results, House competitions and their wins and loses, future education and a variety of activities and quiz’s to make the magazine a little more interesting.
The language that I will be using on the front cover words and phrases. Also I will use phrases such as ‘exam success’ and ‘your future’ as they are quite positive phrases which will give a positive vibe to the magazine.
The school magazine that I will be producing is a good alternative to magazines that are currently on the market for sixth formers. This is because it will be both fun and educational for the reader. It will help them with decisions for the future and will keep them up to date with activities within school. Magazines that are on offer at the moment are mostly opposite to what I will be producing as they are mostly full of fashion and gossip so it will give my target audience a chance to learn about different things in their spare time.
